Request to Help those in Haiti

January 15th, 2010

The recent events in Haiti are heartbreaking. I wish I could just hop on a plane so I could help and comfort all who are suffering.  However, the best I can do right now is to make a donation and keep the Haitian people uplifted through prayer.

I know this is a really hard time for many of us right now. I myself am unemployed and my husband who works for the University of California has taken a pay cut this year as have all UC employees.  Even though my situation is not ideal, it’s nothing compared to what our brothers and sisters in Haiti are going through.

The Frugal Girl, She Writes, and the Money Saving Mom put out a call to all bloggers to donate and urge all their readers to do so as well. I have joined them by making a donation to Doctors without Borders.

I urge you to donate as well to the organization of your choice.  In addition to Doctors with Borders, some other options are listed below:

The Red Cross

Madre

Compassion International

Numana

Oxfam America

Yele Haiti
