Like every red-blooded American, I often have fantasies of wining the lottery, which I might add is somewhat interesting since I very rarely ever play the lottery. These fantasies are particularly strong during my morning commute and they really kick into high gear about 5 minutes before I pull into my work parking garage. Oh, and you better believe my dream list is impressive! David and I would travel more, volunteer more, spend more time with family and friends, and pursue our personal interests more passionately. And of course we would buy a huge house in Topanga Canyon, CA and raise horses.
While driving down Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills yesterday and lost deep in another lottery fantasy, it suddenly dawned on me that I had already won the lottery. Really you might ask? Well let me share with you what I’ve won. I was lucky enough to be born in a country that is still one of the world’s better places to live. Despite our current economic sickness, we still have able bodied people willing to work, myriad natural resources, and a strong will to pull through. Give or take a few maladies here and there, my health is excellent, and I have wonderful friends and family. I have food to eat, shelter over my head, and enough clothes to last five lifetimes. My biggest prize of all is a husband who loves me dearly, and supports me in all my sane as well as crazy endeavors. So what about you? What did you win in the lottery of life? I bet your list is equally impressive
